 People born on February 29, which occurs only during leap years, often celebrate their birthday in other years on February 28th or March 1st. Jewish boys have a bar mitzvah on or around their 13th birthday. Jewish girls have a bat mitzvah on or around their 12th or sometimes on or around their 13th birthday. Some religions do not celebrate birthdays. In the U.S. some girls have "sweet sixteen" birthday parties.
